Japanese Echizen Washi Paper

Echizen Washi Paper is a beautiful and ancient Japanese hand-made paper.  Originating from the Fuk uiPrefecture in Japan, Echizen Washi has been made by hand since before the 8th century.  This strong, durable paper is laced with metallic fiber inclusions which catch the light and make this Washi paper sparkle.  The paper is made in two layers, one providing a soft yet strong base.  Then, a transparent overlay providing inclusions and pattern is overlaid on the base.  Together, the layers provide a depth and appearance not seen in other papers.  Photo images cannot do this paper justice.  Once you see the beauty, you will be hooked.  Echizen Washi Paper is available in many colors including bright white, blue, green, ivory and pink.
