Lokta Paper with Raised Circles

Handmade in Nepal, this stunning "dotted" paper is bathed in a non-toxic Azo dye, then hand embossed with a patterned template and dried naturally in the sun with the template still in place. The brighter the sun, the darker the exposed areas of the embossing, melding the two techniques of solar "sun washing" and embossing into one gorgeous paper. A resilient weight, this paper is perfect for book covers, collage and more.
